The Basque Innovation Agency, Innobasque, presented on Monday, November 2, at Global Innovation Day five practical cases that, from different perspectives and immersed in the pandemic, have opted to continue innovating in their fields and responding to the needs in these tough times. Alfa Hogar, Cáritas Bizkaia, Otxarkoaga Training Center, Akelarre Restaurant and SDA Factory have shared their experiences in an event broadcast via streaming and followed online by more than 1,000 people.
Innobasque selected five among more than 100 practical cases of innovation, among which was SDA Factory, because, according to the Agency indicated, “they successfully resolve a crisis situation”.
The General Director of SDA Factory, Iñaki Castresana, told how the “Healthy” sanitation program was born, which kills viruses and bacteria on our second skin, clothing, and eliminates the presence of COVID19 from our garments.
For Innobasque, SDA Factory, Alfa Hogar, Cáritas Bizkaia, Otxarkoaga Training Center and Akelarre Restaurant are replicable cases in many organizations in the Basque Country: companies and SMEs, research and development agents, R & D & i support agents, associations, educational centers, civic-social entities and public administrations.
In the event, in addition to knowing a Progress of the Innobasque Innovation Report 2020, Román Arjona, chief economist of the Directorate General for Science and Innovation of the European Commission, spoke, who made a presentation on the results of science, research and innovation in the EU 2020, and the contribution of European regions.
The virtual event held from Musikene (Donostia-San Sebastián) was only attended by the members of the Basque Council for Science and Technology and the management of Innobasque. It was closed by the Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu.
