Alava´s company has developed 100 patents and has one of the most important international I+D centers in irons and ironing centers
A year after its acquisition by B&B, the future is to expand the client portfolio and internationalize its products in a sector of maximum competitiveness
The new address has presented the news to the group in Vitoria-Gasteiz
In the first year of its new journey, SDA Factory (Vitoria-Gasteiz) has invested 3 million euros in I + D + i to launch three new modern ranges of ironing centers and irons that strengthen it as a benchmark in small appliances in Spain and Europe, where it exports more than 80% of its production. The company, owned by B&B Trends, with its own brands such as UFESA, DAGA and Di4, is committed to a high quality product based on functional and aesthetic innovation. The most immediate developments have been presented this Wednesday and Thursday at Vitoria-Gasteiz where SDA has brought together the entire commercial network of B&B Trends for the first time.
“We have made a very important effort during this year. The knowledge and experience that SDA Factory has is a capital that we must manage with great care to ensure that it occupies the place it deserves in the European market, controlled mainly by four major brands, ”says the head of organization, Iñaki Castresana.
The new products will be launched imminently and presented at IFA, a sector reference fair held in Germany in September where the company will make an important deployment. Looking ahead to the next course, work is being done to expand its portfolio with seven new ranges of ironing centers and three plates. SDA Factory has shared its business plans with the commercial force of B&B Trends to whom it has also shown the plant where modern appliances are produced.
Working the future
Since the acquisition of the company from BSH “we have worked on several fronts at the same time with the aim of making it more competitive. We have to be aware that while we do not start from scratch our dimension and means are not the same as other players in the small appliance sector. It is a sector where competition is fierce and agility and flexibility is required. ”
Thus, the SDA Factory team has worked on the optimization of the supplier park network, representing a high percentage by local companies; in the improvement of internal competitiveness walking towards industry 4.0, which will provide greater agility and flexibility to production; and in the research in its modern laboratory of new products whose added value makes a difference in the market.

First year
B&B Trends acquired in August 2018 from BSH Home Appliances Group its business unit for irons and ironing centers located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, as well as the UFESA brand. Both parties agreed that the new owner will continue to manufacture plates and ironing centers for BSH until July 2021, to ensure the transition.
B&B Trends is a Spanish company with extensive experience in manufacturing and developing small appliances. It manufactures and sells small household appliances of the UFESA, DAGA and Di4 brands.
