Barcelona / Munich January 14, 2020 – B&B Trends, S.L., a national manufacturing and marketing group of small appliances, has acquired the Polish brand Zelmer from the German multinational BSH. The Spanish company will intensify its presence in Eastern Europe through its Polish subsidiary.
B&B Trends S.L. It is a Spanish company with extensive experience in manufacturing and developing small appliances. B&B manufactures and sells small household appliances of the brands Daga, Di4 and Ufesa, and has two manufacturing centers in Spain: Santa Perpetua de Mogoda (textile heat products, including market leading pads) and Vitoria (irons and centers ironing). In addition, it has R&D Centers in Vitoria, Santa Perpetua and Cixi (China).
The company thus incorporates a new brand to its catalog. Zelmer was created in 1937 and since then it has been a reference brand both in Poland and in most Eastern European countries. Created by the Polish government, it was privatized in 2001 and acquired in 2013 by the German multinational BSH, European leader in the manufacture of household appliances. It has always stood out for its innovation, quality and durability, and for betting on local manufacturing, being the undisputed market leader in categories such as aspiration, blenders or kettles.
“This acquisition represents an important boost to our growth strategy; the acquisition of a brand like Zelmer, a reference in the countries of Eastern Europe and absolute leader in Poland, will allow us a huge international leap in high-growth countries, ”says Angel Riudalbas, CEO of B&B Trends.
B&B will present this January the new catalog of products of the brand, which will be marketed in Poland through its subsidiary (Eurogama Sp. Z o.o). An important part will be manufactured in Poland, but products from Spanish factories will also be incorporated.
With this acquisition, the B&B group continues its commitment to international growth after the acquisition in 2018 of the also historic Spanish brand Ufesa, which has allowed it to strengthen its position in the national market and in multiple Latin American countries. In February 2019, the integration into the ironing business group of the German BSH, the European leader in the manufacture of household appliances, was completed with the incorporation not only of the manufacturing center but also of the global care (R&D) competence center of BSH’s clothes.
